Narsingha – Animated Film
Mahavatar Narsingha is a 2024 Indian animated epic mythological action film directed by Ashwin Kumar in his directorial debut. Produced by Climb Productions and presented by Hombale Films, it is the first installment of the seven-part Mahavatar Cinematic Universe based on Lord Vishnu’s Dashavatara.
Plot
The story features two avatars of Lord Vishnu – Varaha and Narasimha. Varaha rescues Bhudevi from the demon Hiranyaksha. After his defeat, the narrative shifts to his brother Hiranyakashipu, who gains a boon, declares himself a god, and oppresses Vishnu’s devotees. His son Prahlada, however, remains a steadfast devotee of Vishnu despite threats from his father.
To protect Prahlada and defeat evil, Vishnu incarnates as Narasimha, half-man and half-lion. He kills Hiranyakashipu without violating Brahma’s boon—at twilight, on a threshold, on his lap, using claws instead of weapons, and as neither man nor beast. This avatar symbolizes divine justice, faith, and eternal protection of devotees.
